It is not necessary to fly abroad to have a good rest and gain impressions. We have compiled a selection of seven of the most interesting, unusual locations that exist in Russia.

The "City of the Dead" in North Ossetia

Have you dreamed of seeing an abandoned, completely empty city and making unique shots? Go to North Ossetia, to the "City of the Dead". This is a preserved medieval pantheon among the mountains, which includes more than 90 stone crypts of the XIV century. In ancient times, these buildings served as infirmaries, but today it is only a picturesque place where it will be interesting to anyone who loves unusual objects.

Zubrovnik Eco-park in Toksovo

The Toksovo Family Park is the best place for a family vacation. Once here, you will surely get a lot of impressions and add the trip to the "piggy bank" of pleasant memories of summer. Horses and bison live in the park. There are many entertainment and recreation areas on the territory – tourists can play paintball, have a picnic or ride horses. There are also many luxurious playgrounds.

Despite the fact that the park is open to the public, before going for a walk, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the "animal etiquette" in order to interact with the Bison's pets and not disturb their peace. To get to Zubrovnik, you can use public transport – the route starts from the railway station "Devyatkino" or Finlandsky railway station in St. Petersburg.

Mir Diamond Quarry

The diamond quarry is a completely man–made structure, but no less picturesque. Some time ago, the mine was operational, but today it is closed and has become a tourist attraction. The quarry is impressive in size – about one and a half kilometers in diameter.

Some residents of Yakutia believe that the presence of diamond deposits in the region is due to divine intervention: when it was very cold, a Deity hovered in the sky and frostbitten his hand, which caused him to drop a bag of diamonds to the ground.

When preparing for a trip, do not forget to charge your phone and camera – you will surely want to take many beautiful pictures.

Lindulovskaya grove

After walking along Nevsky Prospekt, museums and palaces, you often want to go to nature. Pay attention to the picturesque grove near the village of Roshchino, which can be reached by train from St. Petersburg.

Lindulovskaya grove is a beautiful place resembling a magical forest. The grove was planted by decree of Peter the Great – he hoped to grow wood for the construction of ships. However, a lot of time has passed and today it is a unique nature reserve, in which the oldest plantation of Siberian larch has been preserved. You can come to the grove for both a day and a weekend by renting a house or a hotel room nearby.

Lake Elton

Another name for Lake Elton is the "golden bottom". It is surrounded by a ring of beautiful, snow-white salt. Algae grow on the bottom, giving the reservoir an unusual color. On different days, the lake can shimmer with almost any color, like a gemstone, from indigo to gold.

The depth of the lake is only 5 centimeters, so you can walk along it and take beautiful pictures in the very center of the reservoir, getting unusual visual effects. And if you are lucky, you will find rare tulips blooming or you will see flocks of cranes.
