The most beautiful villages in Russia: 5 ideas for a summer trip

You can organize an exciting and memorable trip not only through the cities, but also through the villages of Russia. We have collected 5 of the most interesting locations.

Yaroslavl region, Vyatka
The village of Vyatskoye is located in the Yaroslavl region. The year of foundation is 1502. Not only landowners lived in this place, but also quite wealthy merchants, thanks to which the village developed very quickly and confidently. At the beginning of the 19th century, the village looked more like a small town – streets were landscaped, stone and wooden mansions were erected, cobblestones were laid, churches were built. Today, only a part of the things of that time have been preserved – ten museums have been opened in the village.

Arkhangelsk region, Kimzha
In the 15th century, one of the surviving villages, Kimzha, was founded. It is located on the banks of the Kimzha River and is popular with tourists. Once here, you can see the preserved monuments of wooden architecture, a tent church and two-storey huts. There are also mills in the village, one of which is an active museum. Another museum in the village is the ethnographic one.

If you want to learn a new skill, visit a local craft school – tourists will be taught how to sculpt fish roasting dishes and fabric on antique looms.

Buryatia, Bolshoy Kunaley
If you are traveling in Buryatia, visit the village of Bolshoy Kunaley, inhabited in 1765. The main feature of this place is a special kind of houses. Villagers painted fences and houses in bright, beautiful colors – this tradition has been preserved today.

A folk choir has also been founded in the village, performing in many regions of Russia and abroad, including Japan and Europe.

Karelia, Kinerma
For the first time, the mention of the village of Kinerma was found in the "Scribe's Book of the Obonezhskaya Pyatina". The center of the settlement is the Chapel of the Smolensk Mother of God, built in the 18th century. The streets on which the houses of the villagers are built "diverge" from the Chapel. Many of these houses are now strictly guarded and declared architectural monuments.

The main occupation of the locals is the preservation of traditions and agriculture. No tourist will be left without attention – you will be told about the main customs of Karelia, as well as several master classes. Also, do not forget to taste local national dishes.

Arkhangelsk region, the village of Vorzogory
The village of Vorzogory is located on the shore of the White Sea, the first mention of which was made in 1559. The main feature of this village is shipbuilding. The craftsmen who lived in the village built wooden vessels for sailing on the sea.

One of the preserved buildings is the wooden temple of Zosima and Savvati Solovetsky, built in 1850. Another attraction is a wooden tee located on the seashore.
