Khibiny is a place for connoisseurs of alien landscapes

Khibiny is a mountain range located on the Kola Peninsula. You can start your journey from one of the two cities at the foot of the year – Apatity or Kirovsk. However, to get to the picturesque and "unearthly" landscapes, you need to leave the city and start a tour of the natural areas. We have collected the most interesting locations to visit.

Lake Bolshoy Vudyavr
Bolshoy Vudyavr is a mountain lake in the Khibiny tundra. Despite the fact that the lake itself is a beautiful location, it is also worth taking a walk around it. The northern convent and an abandoned train station are located on the shore of the lake. And while walking around, also go up to the observation deck at the very top of the slope – it offers stunning views of the lake itself and the surrounding area.

Ramsay Gorge
Ramzai Gorge is one of the most visited places in Khibiny, this is largely due to its proximity to Kirov and open transport routes. The gorge is a large crack in the mountain range, which has long served as a convenient place for cargo delivery and geological expeditions. A beautiful view of the Belaya River opens from the pass near the gorge. The passage through the gorge is very simple, you will not need special physical training, however, you may not have the strength to continue walking into the city along a beautiful path, so if you want to explore as many places as possible, take breaks and take food with you for a snack.

Lake Imandra
After reaching the western part of the Kola Peninsula, you will find yourself at Lake Imandra, another picturesque location. Despite the fact that Lake Imandra is smaller than Lake Baikal and Lake Ladoga, it is also rather big, you will certainly have something to see. In the past, the lake was surrounded by glaciers, which formed unusual, "rugged" shores that resemble lace from a height. You can go for a walk along the lake shore or take a lot of beautiful photos.

Umbozersky pass
The route through the Umbozersky pass is very interesting and beautiful, so if you are ready to extend the trip for several days, find an escort and stock up on provisions – you can also go on a tour in your car, however, it must be designed for off-road driving. Previously, herds of deer were driven along the Umbozersky pass – the road is passable and convenient for tourists.
