Locations from the movie "Cheburashka" - where to go with the whole family?
Do you want to arrange an interesting adventure and walk around the places where the highest–grossing film Cheburashka was shot? Take advantage of our selection.

Sochi Arboretum and Ordzhonikidze Sanatorium

One of the most popular locations of the movie Cheburashka is Sochi Arboretum. According to the plot, it was here that Gena worked. The arboretum of Sochi is considered one of the most beautiful in Russia and is visited annually by a huge number of tourists. As of today, the Ordzhonikidze sanatorium is closed and it is not possible to enter its territory.

The Arboretum is the "green heart" of Sochi and an iconic place for both locals and visitors. In total, more than 1,800 different plants, trees and shrubs are collected in the park.

The second location from the film is Ordzhonikidze Sanatorium. The building only flashed in the frame, but this is also a great reason to visit it. In the film, Gena's house was located on the territory of the sanatorium – a winter garden and a tower appeared on the screen. The building was artificially aged for filming, and additional plants and shrubs were planted around, despite the fact that there are so many relict trees around.

It is impossible to see Gena's house – it was dismantled after filming, however, walking around the territory of the sanatorium, you can get great pleasure and make a lot of beautiful shots. Also take a look at the exhibition "Villa Nadezhda" - the building was built in 1899 and stands out among the green trees and palm trees due to the bright facade.

Important! You can enter the territory of the sanatorium only as part of an excursion, so plan your visit in advance.

Kurortny Boulevard in Kislovodsk

One of the most beautiful boulevards of Kislovodsk, Kurortny, was chosen to work on the film. It was in this location that the scene with oranges flying down the street was filmed, which is "spinning" on social networks today. You can get to Kislovodsk from Moscow by plane, train or intercity bus.

After taking a photo on Kurortny Boulevard, go for a walk around the city – there is something to see here:

  • Narzan Gallery. The building is located on the territory of the resort park. Here you can try water from different sources – heated and cold. There are common, as well as dolomite and sulfate narzanes.
  • The mountain "Small saddle". A beautiful natural location with an observation deck equipped for tourists. From this platform you can admire a beautiful view of the city, and if a sunny day falls, then you can see the top of Elbrus from here. Rare trees and plants grow on the mountain and the area near it, it is a great place for hiking. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city and want to breathe clean, fresh air, a walk along the "Small Saddle" will be an excellent solution.
  • Cascading stairs. This is the "business card" of Kislovodsk and one of the most visited places. Dolomitized limestone was used for the construction. The staircase is made in antique style, looks very bright against the background of greenery and attracts the attention of passers-by.
  • Chaliapin's Cottage Museum https://dacha-shalyapina.ru /. Even those who are not particularly interested in music, but love beautiful houses, should visit the literary and musical museum. The artist rented this house for his family, the mansion was built in 1903. The architectural style is modern.

If you add 1-2 more days to the trip, then you can go to Pyatigorsk. Some scenes for the film Cheburashka were also filmed in this city.

The Flower Garden Park and the M.Y.Lermontov Museum-Reserve in Pyatigorsk

Pyatigorsk is known for its sanatoriums and beautiful landscapes, so it's worth coming here not only to see the locations from the movie, but also to relax and walk along the beautiful streets.

The Flower Garden Park is one of the oldest in the city, it is very much loved by the locals. Flower and banana beds are laid out on the territory of the park, and a glass greenhouse is installed. You can walk through the park any day and enjoy the beautiful views, or come to attend a festival or concert, which are often held here.
